How to choose suitable longboard trucks?
There are few things that you must remember prior to purchasing trucks for your longboard. You must evaluate the size of your longboards axle and hanger in the start. It is obvious that the size of the trucksââ¬â¢ axle must be according to your requirement. The width of axle and hanger can be determined from the width of deck; for example for a 7.25ââ¬Â deck appropriate axle would be anywhere from 7 to 8 inches in width. The low down profile skateboard trucks are best for tricks as they offer additional control due to low centre of gravity on top of the skateboard. This ensures a steadier platform which would enable you to execute kicks and flips. You should prefer 54 mm wheels (small size) for low trucks. If you just want to do normal cruising then you must prefer average trucks. Similarly the elevated trucks provide the rider freedom to use full-sized wheels and hence they are best for cruising and turning. If you want to gain high speeds during your ride then you must choose elevated trucks and full-size wheels.
